For a lot of dogs the sound of fireworks means that the world is coming to an end.

It is not uncommon for dogs to escape and try to run away because they are so afraid and scared. Don’t forget, their hearing is much better than ours.

Know when fireworks are happening in your area and take action before you have to deal with a scared and sad dog.

Here are some of the ways you can keep your dog calm during fireworks.

  1. Keep them inside and occupied.
  2. Create familiar noise – tv, music, etc.
  3. Act like nothing is wrong. Don’t get upset because they are. Be confident.
  4. Go for a drive away from the noise.
  5. Distract them with treats and rewards.
  6. Use anxiety wraps/vests like the ThunderShirt
  7. If none of this works, talk to your Vet.

Below are some examples of the thunder shirt and links to their amazon store.
