Dog parks around Brisbane are there for everyone to use and sometimes we need think about others. I know… in this day and age when we are all so entitled we should really think about how others might feel.
If your dog is dominating another dog (humping, standing over another, etc) it is your job to stop it. If someone else stops your dog from doing it, you should accept it.
If your dog is continuously stealing another dogs ball and not giving it up, it is your job to get it and return it to the owner.
If someone doesn’t like the way your dog is behaving and they ask you to stop your dog from doing it, accept it.
If your dog is known not to play with others, dog parks might not be the place for you to play. Dog parks are a privilege not a right.
It is your job to clean up after your dog. If you stand in poo (chances are, it’s karma), be a champion and clean it up so some old lady hip replacement doesn’t slip on it.
If you notice that something at the dog park is broken, call the council (Call : 07 3403 8888). The council wants the facilities to be nice so let them know if its not.
Here is what the council says:
When using dog parks, make sure your dog:
- is under your control (e.g. your dog will return to you when called)
- is not a nuisance to other dogs and their owners
- droppings are disposed of in the bins provided
- is registered with Council, wormed regularly and its vaccinations are up to date.

The latch on gate into dog park is broken. Everyone has to enter and leave through a large field gate. Dogs try to get out when you open it.
